“Able Art” (the art genre of people with disabilities), has received increasing attention in the art industry in recent years. Many of these artists have one of a kind, very unique and creative styles that even major apparel brands have sought to work with. Their artwork is often infused with POP and catchy designs and powerful composition reflecting their uniqueperspective of the world.

This time, we will showcase the works of Sol, a 13-year-old who lives in Singapore. He was diagnosed with autism when he was 4 and started drawing with his Japanese mother 's encouragement. Sol’s style of vivid colors/precise linear details and whimsical feeling of interiors and cityscapes celebrates commonplace objects of everyday life, elevating popular culture to the level of fine art. Before drawing commences the painting has already been completed in 3D in his mind. The fountain pen and preferred Prockey markers his tools of trade to craft his vision.

The Able Art movement has several challenges. The genre is gaining awareness but still lags in the credit and celebration it deserves. The Able Artists are blessed with talent but also intermittent in work production due to their challenges. Their families are anxious that they might not be able to support the Able Artists well enough to sustain their level of creativity. We believe that Able Artists, often those with a sensitive nature, need to have a means to support their activities.

Artversal believes in the artist's talent and possibilities in art. We support art activities for those with developmental challenges. For the purpose of energizing the manufacturing industry through art, we cooperated with Tachikawa, Japan plastic processing industry leader Taiko Bussan, and Hino City's overseas art exhibition support group, ARTRATES. Adopting the technique of printing Sol’s works on acrylic boards, we have succeeded in creating a new collaborative work.

The Acrylic Sol Exhibition will be held free of admission as a Shinnyoen subsidized project. 15 works of Sol, photographed on acrylic board with high printing technology, are exhibited as well as original drawings.
